The final part of our Chorister Outreach work was a concert in the Royal Northern College of Music. We sang the world premiere of ‘Thunder, Lightning or in rain’ with the cathedral choristers and eight other school choirs. The piece was a setting of some of the words from Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. Having so many singers all performing together was a real treat and the performance was fantastic. Well sone to all the choir for all their hard work this year.
The drumming group rehearse after school on Tuesday with Mr Bucknor and Miss Challis. They are amazing! They performed for us on Africa day-and it was a great way to start the day! They are performing at the RNCM on Thursday 8th July – so if you want to hear more come along!
Lots of hard work is going on at this time of year. Year 5 and 6 are having to really push themselves to get their performance ready for next week. This song is a great one to remind us that we can achieve anything-as long as we believe in ourselves.
Well done choir! What a performance. If you were nervous you didn’t show it – you looked and sounded like true professionals! I’m really looking forward to the next concert now-the audience will be even bigger next time!
Thank you so much to all the parents/carers who allowed their children to come, and brought them all back to school on time so the evening went smoothly. Thanks to those of you who came and watched too-it makes such a difference having a friendly audience.
Remember all that dancing in assembly the other day?! Well this is the song we were singing and dancing to. We are all going to be learning this to perform on our day of African Celebration in July.
This is our entry for Eurodance 2010! We will post it on the Eurodance website and lots of other schools will watch it and let us know what they think of our dance. The dance we are doing is based on a traditional dance called the ‘Upton Stick Dance’. Hope you enjoy it.
We did it! Well done. All of your singing has been recognised by Sing Up who have awarded Plymouth Grove a Silver Award for all the great singing that goes on in and out of school. Sing Up watched videos and listened to you singing and they thought you sounded ‘Fantastic!’
Lets not stop here. Who thinks we should go for the Gold Award next year and do even more singing?!
We have sung this is assembly with lots of actions. Can you remember them? Can you sing it without the backing track? Can you sing it faster with all the actions? Have fun.
